I launched my Moments by Andrea facebook page last night. I have to admit that I created it almost a year ago and have been so busy I never got around to launching it. Yesterday I finally found some time to update the images and announce it's release! Thank you to my friends and clients, I had over 100 "fans" in less than a day!! Yeah!!! This is great. I am actually going to be upgrading my blog soon and it will be linked to facebook so this is good timing!

I love sharing my images on facebook. I even managed to get some up today from a session I had at noon. This was fun for me and for the client! I look forward to growing my fan base on facebook. I plan to reward my fans with prize drawings! I gave away FOUR $250 gift certificates to people were among my first 100 fans.  Fun, fun!

If you like my work please become a fan of Moments by Andrea Photography on facebook!

Here are a couple of the images from today's Baby Club session! This little angel turned ONE TODAY! Happy Birthday LR! These one year old baby photo sessions are some of my favorites!!

...to get back to work! Our new au pair should be here Friday! Yeah! I am chomping at the bit to be full time in my studio!

I purchased a few new items for the studio! I LOVE color and am introducing more if it into my work! I just added a beautiful solid pink and a gorgeous baby blue backdrop. And I will soon be receiving a cool tile backdrop that has a european feel. I love it and can't wait to use it in my work.

I also purchased a couple of flokati rugs (white and pink) for my baby pics and a classic tufted green chair. I wish I had room to buy so much more! I'm also in the process of getting some knit hats for babies and newborns. There is nothing cuter than a baby in a knit hat.

Here is an image that I took today of my oldest, Olivia. She is 6 1/2 but looks so much older to me. She loves modeling for mommy! You can see a touch of the blue background and a tiny bit of the green chair behind her. I just love these colors

OK, so I took a month off and really enjoyed the time with the family and the amazing vacation at Beaches in Turks & Caicos! It was our second trip to the Beaches property there. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a family vacation! It is only a 3 hours direct flight from JFK, 15 minutes from the airport, beautiful weather, all inclusive, 16 restaurants, 6 pools, kids club, beautiful rooms, etc. Check out their website: www.beaches.com

I am slowly getting back to work. I am in between au pairs right now but the new one will be here soon but until then I am on mommy duty! I admire full time moms so much! It really is the hardest job in the world!

So, while I anxiously await my au pairs arrival, please enjoy this image from vacation! If you have been in my studio you have seen the second image custom framed in my guest bathroom. This one is going in the children's beach themed bathroom upstairs. I can't wait to design the frame for it too! I just love all the colors!

P.S. The girls bathing suits are from krik-it in Wilton center! They have the cutest clothes for kids! Hats courtesy of the best team in baseball! That comment is for my hubby!

Giving is AWESOME!- Wilton CT Photographer

So I sent out an email to my 800 contacts in my constant contact account. It announced the opportunity for FIVE famiies to win a Studio Portrait Session, ONE 11 x 14 and a set of 4 x 6 prints of all the imags in their session. My intention is for the winners to be able to keep all the memories that we capture in the session and not have to spend a penny.

I was looking for special families that were struggling this holiday season with severe illness. I received numerous stories, most relating to a parent or child with cancer. The same day I sent out this email I received news that my mother's sister was diagnosed with colon cancer. The sad thing is that my mother's brother died of colon cancer 30 years ago. This is very scarey for my mother who won her own battle against breast cancer seven years ago. It amazes me how many families experience at least one family member with cancer.

I received numerous nominations and was able to select Five PLUS Three, ok that is eight families to receive my gift certificate. It was too hard to pick. Most of them were dealing with either a child or parent with some form of cancer. There it is again, the C word. I originally offered the session for only February and April and it quickly hit me that illness has no calendar. I extended the expiration date so that most of the families would indeed be able to find time to redeem their certificates.

I know this gift will not make them better but I am hoping that when they do recieve the prints it will bring at least a little joy and hope to their lives. I am not the only photographer doing this. There are MANY of us. It is part of a program called Giving is AWESOME! So far there are 355 participating photographers accross the country.

Merry Christmas to all! Cherish your family and your health! They are the most precious gifts of all!
